JANUARY

Happy New Year, Holly Parkers!  I hope that you enjoyed the holidays.  Some of you made it extra special and gave me presents – Amara gave me a lovely blanket, Demmi gave me a ball and Krish got me some santa tennis balls and an elf toy – THANK YOU!  Today Ms Sampson let me go to lunchtime library club and it was so much fun.  I got to enjoy reading and being stroked – what’s better than that?  As I stuck to the library rules I am going to go next week too and I already can’t wait.

DECEMBER

Today is the final day of term and Santa Paws is soon coming to town!  As a special treat,  I got to join the Year 6 pups for their homework golden time.  I got a lot of stroking and tummy rubs;  some of them even threw a ball for me on the ball area – it was a-maisying!

Me & Ms Sampson would like to thank all the staff and children of Holly Park for making me feel so welcome.  I have really enjoyed my first term here!  Happy holidays and see you in the New Year, Maisy.

This week Ms Sampson and I visited The Treehouse and it was so much fun!  We read and recited some poems together then listened to a ridiculous story called ‘Father Christmas Needs a Wee’ – it was very funny.  Best of all, Caroline got me a lovely fluffy blanket to lie on while I had my tummy tickled – heaven!

Look who I met getting up to no good in school. I think they have been all over the school but I caught them in Mrs Pelham’s office. They were quite nice actually.

Hello-ho-ho Holly Barkers.  Today everyone is looking very jazzy at school, including me!  Here’s a picture of me with some of my Beech Class besties – don’t they look pawesome?  I love Christmas and am very excited that the countdown has begun to Santa Paws’ visit.

Ms Sampson has given  my advent calendar to Mrs Puzey so that some of you can open it for me- my furry paws are not good at opening little card windows!  Right – it is time for me to go but…one more thing…  I am sure that I saw two naughty elves dart across the playground this morning.  I must have imagined that, don’t you think?

NOVEMBER

I had the BEST time ever this week as I joined some of Juniper Class for Forest School. Mrs Hurry was there too.  I got so excited to be there that I had to run round and round in circles in the leaves!  They were making some lovely artwork using forest materials and taught me and Ms Sampson many things like the names of the trees.  They also showed us some acorns that were sprouting roots and some oak marbles that gall wasps hatch out of – how a-maisy-ing is that?  Thank you so much to Juniper for letting us visit – Ms Sampson has promised me that we will go again with Year 1.

Today I have been spending lots of time with my friends, including Mrs Puzey.  I particularly like going in the playground after you have had your break as there is often lots of dropped bits of snacks for me to hoover up!  This afternoon I went out for a walk with Millena and Amara in Year 5 and we spent some time in the family area together – I really enjoyed seeing the stars that you have made hanging from the ceiling.

Hello everyone!  It’s me, Maisy! Or is it?  See if you can spot me in the leaves?  Ms Sampson and I have been having some a-maisy-ing walks recently -it’s our favourite time of year to be in the woods.  Walking is very good for your health and wellbeing and we often go to Trent Park.  Where are your favourite places to walk?  Please let us know so we can try them out.

I hope that you all had a good half term.  I had lots of lovely walks in the autumn sunshine with Ms Sampson – it was wonderful.  I had a very exciting lunchtime today.  Godwin came to give me my food and Anna brought me a lovely photo she has drawn of me – thank you Anna! Have a pawesome week.

OCTOBER

Today was tail-waggingly good as I got to visit ‘Little City’ in the hall with two of my best friends, Teddy and Godwin.  We played in the shop but mostly in the vets, of course!  Godwin checked my heartbeat and, thank goodness, it was beating well.  I hope that all of you who visited had fun.  Next time you see me around school, please tell me what you want to be when you grow up. Have a great half-term everyone.

Wow, did you see how well our runners did in the cross country? They were fantastic, I love a run in the park but not so sure how well I would do in a competition. Well done them.

I am getting used to life at Holly Park and everyone is getting to know me. Last week we had some owls come to visit us. Apparently they could sense that I was in Mrs Pelham’s office!

I am quite a relaxed and sleepy dog. I prefer to stay in my bed rather than walk around the playground and chase after tennis balls but I think Mrs Puzey has a plan to get me into action more!

It has been a bit quieter in school as Y5 and Y6 have been on their residential trips. I heard they had a fabulous time.

I am feeling very settled at Holly Park now. The Headteacher’s chair is very comfortable. Do you think it suits me?

SEPTEMBER

I had a really fun time in The Enchanted Forest yesterday with some of the Year 6 librarians.  We found some amazing books that feature…dogs.  There is a non-fiction book called ‘A World of Dogs’ and it is full of fun facts about … you guessed it … dogs!  If you read it will you please tell me and Ms Sampson what you learn?  There are also lots of Dogman books – they are very funny.  If you find any other dog-themed books in the library, please let me know. Have a wag-some week,

Last week was tail-waggingly good!  I got to spend lots of time with Mrs Puzey and so many of you took me for walks – thank you.

On Friday it was a little boring as none of you were here.  However – I got to spend time in the Enchanted Forest.  Lots of amazing new books arrived and I helped Mrs Hurry, Mrs Needham and Vi put them on the shelves!

Today you have made me feel very special as it is my 9th birthday.  Miss Michael bought me a birthday cake toy and I love it so much – it squeaks!   Best of all was that I got to come to my first ever assembly and you all sang to me!

Thank you all so much – you are pawsitively the best!

Hello Holly Park-Pups,

Well, what a week I had, last week!  I really enjoyed coming in to school and meeting so many of you.  I went to every class in KS2 and lots of you came to stroke me.  Stroking is good so please keep that up!  Some children made me some pictures too,  Ms Sampson has put them up on her classroom wall.

This week I will be in for three whole days. I will be spending some time in Miss Michael’s room, Mrs Pelham’s room and even with Mrs Puzey!  I have already spent some time with some of you going for little walks.

Thank you all for welcoming me and making me feel part of the school already.  I hope you all have a pawesome week.

Hello everyone!

My name is Maisy and I am very excited to be joining Holly Park in September. I have never been to school before but I hear that Holly Parkers are very kind and I cannot wait to make lots of new friends!

I am eight years old (I will be nine in September) and I am an English Cocker Spaniel.  My favourite things are (in no particular order): eating, going for walks and being stroked.

I have my very own pet human called Ms Sampson (some of you may know her) and she will bring me to school with her – she’s even got me a special school uniform! Ms Sampson’s daughter (Lucy) will be bringing me in to school to start with to help introduce me to you.  I’ll be spending time with Mrs Puzey, Mrs Pelham and even Miss Michael too!

I have heard all about your previous dog, Poppy, who I understand was very special to you all.  I hope that I can follow in her paw-prints and also be a loyal, kind and caring Holly Barker.

See you soon, Maisy.
