Diversity

At Holly Park School we are a very diverse community but we all have mutual respect for each other.

We show tolerance and respect for other cultures and religions and we consider different traditions and values. We develop pupils understanding of their place in a culturally diverse society and give them opportunities to experience such diversity.

Learning takes place in assemblies and discussions in RE and PSHE. The school has a high-profile ‘Language of the Half Term’ that runs throughout the year, linking to languages spoken by our EAL pupils. Members of different faiths or religions are encouraged to share their knowledge to enhance learning within classes and the school.

Every class makes a visit each year to a place of worship linked to their RE topics. We celebrate other religions and faiths through music – singing songs from different festivals and in different languages. Displays around the school encourage us to think about our diverse community – our family backgrounds and the languages we speak.
